Pre-Order Information
Basically, you just email or snail mail a special photo to us and we will turn it into an embroidered work of art! The entire process takes a considerable amount of time and requires manual graphics editing, digitizing, etc. Photos range from about 35,000 to 75,000+ stitches based on size and detail. If you have any questions about a photo, feel free to email it to us and we can let you know if it would be a good candidate for photo embroidery.
Important Information:
Results will be best if your photo is a 5" x 7" or larger and primarily a face shot. If there is more than one person, then we may need an 8" x 10" photo. Photos with a lot of contrast work best.
The larger the facial image, the better the features will be represented in thread. Remember, thread has a definite size and density; therefore tiny details cannot be duplicated exactly.
We typically eliminate the background and only digitize the main subject. If you would like your embroidered portrait done differently, please enter your comments in the "special requests" box during check out.
If the quality of your photo will not create a pleasing final result, we will either request a different photo or suggest ways to improve the quality.
We will embroider the photo in 1 solid color. If you choose a dark-colored blanket, then the photo will be in a light color, such as white. If you choose a light-colored blanket, such as white blanket, then the photo will be embroidered in a dark thread such as black.
Rush Order Option: We will complete your order sooner for an additional fee. We will start the order from the date/time that we receive the photo and all pertinent information for your order, along with payment. The soonest that we can complete an order is within 2-3 business days (holidays and weekends do not count). If you send us your order on Saturday, we will not begin working on it until the next business day, which would be Monday.
Quantity Discounts: We will give a discount only for duplicates of the exact photo embroidered. However, if you need each embroidered photo shipped to separate addresses, you will need to make a separate order.
If you choose to mail your photo to us:

We cannot be responsible for photos lost or damaged by the US Postal Service. We suggest that you put your photo into a plastic bag before putting it in the envelope/package for added protection from outside elements. Be sure to use a photo envelope or at least sandwich your photo between 2 pieces of thin cardboard, so it will not get bent.
If you would like your photo returned, you must send a self addressed stamped envelope if your order is being shipped as a gift to a different address. If your order is being shipped directly to you, then we will send your photo back in the package.
If you choose to send your image via email:
Scan your photo with at least a 600 dpi image resolution and save it in a bitmap format or scan a photo with at least 150 pixels per inch resolution.
If you send us a digital image, check to see if it is at least 600 dpi or 150 pixels per inch. Naturally, the lower the dpi, the lower the quality and we will have more difficulty in getting details from it. We prefer bitmap format, but can take jpg and many other formats.
